Chinese Checkers and the Decaying Liberal Media: Why Trump got what He Wanted at the Summit with Xi

The gap between perception and reality in American politics has grown exponentially over the last decade, with the left fully committed to pushing false and absurd narratives about Trump and MAGA since he came to power in 2016. The Democratic Party has branded itself solely as the anti-Trump movement, and the leftist allies of the Democrats do almost nothing but lie daily about the President and Republicans. Over the last decade, the left has told blatant lies about everything from Trump’s nonexistent affiliations with Russia to comments he never made about neo-nazis in South Carolina. If the liberal press has anything remotely accurate to say about the President or his conservative allies, most objective observers are surprised.

This is why the recent summit between President Xi of China and Trump was once again a reality check for the nasty left-wing leaders and their allies in the media. The President flew to meet his Chinese counterpart with a singular goal in mind, cut off aid to Iran and isolate the Iranian regime during the high-stakes negotiations this dictatorship is engaging in with the US. Trump got that goal accomplished. China made clear the country would not provide any military assistance to Iran, despite the fact that the world’s second-largest economy imports a significant amount of oil from the Persian nation. The President flexed his diplomatic muscle on the international stage against America’s more formidable adversary, and Trump was able to use his leverage, once again, to deliver.

The President was playing chess, and his goal was to checkmate an Iranian regime that is running out of both options and time, after the US has decimated most of the vile dictatorship’s military capabilities. China had sent some fuel to Iran during this conflict for the country’s missiles, and with Russia focused on the country’s war with Ukraine, Xi was Iran’s last hope for the kind of economic and military assistance the Iranian government so desperately needed. Still, the Chinese leader made clear in no uncertain terms that he will not provide the aid the Mullahs in Iran wanted. This diplomatic victory by Trump shows several key facts that, once again, are inconvenient for the left.

The President remains highly respected by leaders on the world stage, even if these powerful men and women dislike him. Trump tariffs and his at times harsh tone when dealing with China have led Xi to respect him. While Biden was both senile and corrupt, Trump is clearly seen as strong and not a person who can be bought. Hunter Biden’s many now-infamous business deals in China had already compromised his dad and the rest of his family long before the weak Senator from Delaware became President. Xi knew he could play the former President for a fool. Biden falling on the walkway to Air Force One and constantly apologizing projected an obvious weakness as well.

Indeed, while the failing liberal media tried to push the usual fake stories about Trump selling out Taiwan, the reality is that the President simply approached the Chinese leadership with a clear and deft strategy. He showed toughness with his actions, such as the recent tariffs he has imposed on China, but also extended olive branches, such as bringing up the idea of delaying arms shipments to Taiwan. The US remains committed to Taiwan’s security and independence. The President was simply using leverage and negotiating tactics to get what he wanted, and Trump got exactly what his administration sought in the midst of negotiations with Iran.

Joe Biden infamously said America is back after becoming President in 2020, but the reality is that Trump returning to the White House in 2024 is when the US returns to being a true superpower. The 47th President’s actions in Venezuela and Iran, his hawkish tone, and confidence with world leaders, all project strength. The left can push whatever new and even more absurd narratives these radicals want, but when the chips were down, Trump was able to flex his diplomatic muscle and use his leverage to get what he wanted from the second most powerful country in the world. The President went to China to isolate Iran, and the vile Iranian regime is now on a sinking ship without any lifeboats as Trump moves in for a final deal with a nation that has been a violent and destabilizing force in the Middle East for nearly five decades.
