Local Democrats Beg For My Vote, And They’re Getting NASTY

This past weekend, I heard a knock on my door and, upon opening it, saw three people who look like carnies from the state fair.

Actually it was a group of local Democrats trying to pass around literature for the upcoming election. 

These aren’t the first Democrats to knock on my door this month. 

I suppose word hasn’t got out yet that talking to me is a waste of Democrats’ time. But they are trying hard to get through to me.

Now local Democrats are paying for ads to show up on my Facebook feed to urge me to ditch the GOP and vote blue in November. 

Despite my better judgement, I just had to make a few remarks in one of their comments sections.

“Do the Democrats’ policies involve MORE or less government micromanaging my life? And will Democrats commit to taxing less and spending less taxpayer money on the things government has no business spending money on? And can Democrats promise voters that they’ll keep the border closed and stop taking in illegal immigrants?” I asked, assuming I was communicating like an adult and in a courteous and cordial way. 

“As bad as Republicans are right now, my beliefs and values conflict greatly with the Democratic Party platform, so I’ll pass on voting for one.”

I never cussed. I was never belligerent.

It didn’t take long for Democrats to respond.

Well….they didn’t exactly answer my question. Instead they told me that I support child molesters and endorse child rape. 

Huh?

These aren’t adults I’m conversing with. These are toddlers in a pre-K sandbox. 

Instead of taking my concerns seriously and trying to understand why I and millions of other voters think and feel the way we do, I’m immediately treated like an idiot.

And I haven’t even gotten to the best part. 

A failed Democratic candidate for Congress from 2022 and 2024 decided to press the laugh icon at my very well-intended question. 

I told her that “your refusal to treat mine and others’ concerns with respect might explain why you can’t get elected to Congress.”

Oh…..she didn’t like that. Not one bit.

This woman who lost two elections in a row calls me “stupid” and “a loser.”

My rebuttal: “Oh, so now we’re resorting to name calling? That figures. Democrats always resort to personal attacks when they have no meaningful rebuttal.”

She then called me a fascist.

I had another question.

“Were you as big of an uppity snob to the voters you met as you are to me?”

Her response: “Trumpers are full of shit.”

Obviously, this woman is neither interested in answering my question, nor is she open to hearing my concerns as a voter or a possible constituent, should she run again.

I politely wished her the best of luck with her approach with voters the next time she chooses to run.  She shut up. 

You just can’t have an adult conversation with Democrats….even the ones who aspire to political office. 

Republicans can find a way to use this to their advantage this election year and in coming election years. But something tells me they’re too lazy to try. 

In the meantime, I’ll continue to get under these Democrats’ skins and bring out the worst in them.
