Why Schools Must Start Thinking Now About Rejecting Mask Mandates

Americans have seen this movie before. Its schools had a front row seat. Let us all hope that those same Americans’ courage equals their common sense.

Amidst growing propaganda concerning new variants of Covid, President Trump released a passionate video statement this week, unequivocally opposing any attempt to reinstate restrictions, which of course include the dreaded trio of mask mandates, lockdowns, and vaccine mandates.

Over the weekend Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo was equally unequivocal concerning this slowly but surely developing story.

Any American paying even the least bit of attention the last few years will recognize that the pattern established in 2019 and into 2020–a presidential election year–is the same pattern materializing now in 2023 leading into the most important presidential election in our nation’s history next fall. The impeachment hoaxes are akin to the recent indictment and arrest hoaxes. This story goes beyond Covid. This story is so clearly steeped in the Deep State‘s absolute need to get rid of Trump one way or another.

Here is part of what Trump had to say:

“The left-wing lunatics are trying very hard to bring back COVID lockdowns and mandates with all of their sudden fear-mongering about the new variants that are coming.

“Gee whiz, you know what else is coming? An election. They want to restart the COVID hysteria so they can justify more lockdowns, more censorship, more illegal dropboxes, more mail-in ballots, and trillions of dollars in payoffs to their political allies heading into the 2024 election. Does that sound familiar?

“These are bad people. These are sick people we’re dealing with. But to every COVID tyrant who wants to take away our freedom, hear these words, WE WILL NOT COMPLY, so don’t even think about it.

“We will not shut down our schools. We will not accept your lockdowns. We will not abide by your mask mandates, and we will not tolerate your vaccine mandates.”

Trump, in a telling, singular warning that hopefully will reach school officials everywhere, made it very clear what he intends to do to anyone who kowtows to the corrupt establishment and clear propagandistic lies.

“When I’m back in the White House, I will use every available authority to cut federal funding to any school, college, airline, or public transportation system that imposes a mask mandate or a vaccine mandate.”

John Tierney wrote an important article entitled “Much to Forgive” in April 2021 that highlighted how abusive this society was to our children in 2020 and 2021. Here are some of his thoughts:

There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul,” Nelson Mandela famously said, “than the way in which it treats its children.” By that standard, our society now has the soul of an abusive parent. The pandemic has turned American adults, or at least the ones who make the rules, into selfish neurotics who have been punishing innocent children for over a year—and still can’t restrain themselves.

When the pandemic began, the lack of knowledge about Covid-19 justified this behavior. That excuse has vanished. It became clear long ago that the virus is less dangerous to children than the flu, and that keeping schools open poses minimal risk of spreading infections. Yet despite this evidence—and despite the widespread availability of vaccines to teachers and other adults—many schools have yet to reopen full-time, and others are still making students as miserable as possible….

The rationale for forcing anyone to wear a mask is questionable, as my colleague Connor Harris has meticulously demonstrated. Wearing masks might provide some protection for some high-risk adults in crowded indoor settings, but the evidence is mixed, and masks can be not just uncomfortable but harmful. Some adults may judge the trade-offs worthwhile for themselves, but for children it’s all pain and no gain….

So far, adult fearmongering has probably fooled most children into believing that school closures, social distancing, and masks are necessary precautions. But eventually, when the hysteria abets and the facts emerge, they will realize that their year of studying miserably served no more rational purpose than our ancestors’ child sacrifices to the gods. As Oscar Wilde said, “Children begin by loving their parents; as they grow older they judge them; sometimes they forgive them.” This generation will have much to forgive.

Schools, are you paying attention? This is a re-run of four years ago. Please tell me we have learned our lesson. Please tell me we recognize the “pandemic” as the plandemic it truly was. Please tell me you’re not going to listen to those who aim to be our overlords, not our friends.

Please tell me you’re going to remember the truth so extensively laid out for us when Covid “went away” and was replaced by the new fearmongering ploy known as Ukraine and Russia.

Please tell me you remember.

We cannot make the same mistakes we made in 2020. We must not comply. We must not force those kids to wear that ridiculous face diaper that not only has science proven doesn’t work, but is actually incredibly dangerous to their physical well-being both now and in the future.

And if we do, parents at those schools had better get involved. “We will not comply” must be more than just a hashtag. It has to be a movement everyone is dead serious about.

May everyone named directly or referenced indirectly ask forgiveness and do penance for their sins against America and God. I fight this information war in the spirit of justice and love for the innocent, but I have been reminded of the need for mercy and prayers for our enemies. I am a sinner in need of redemption as well, for my sins are many. In the words of Jesus Christ himself, Lord forgive us all, for we know not what we do.
