So The Sound of Freedom Wasn’t QAnon Propaganda After All?

Do you remember last summer when the political left and the establishment press tried to discredit Sound of Freedom as paranoid and QAnon propaganda?

Human smugglers at the southern border are no myth.

People at the border who use children as pieces of property are no myth.

Get a load of these two stories, one from Virginia, the other from Texas.

FROM VIRGINIA

A 27-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala entered the United States on an unknown date without being inspected, admitted or paroled by an immigration official.

Fairfax County Police arrested that man last month and charged him with computer solicitation of a child between the ages of 7 and 15 years of age and two counts of exposing his genitals.

Deportation officers with Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Washington, D.C.’s Mobile Criminal Apprehension Team also charged him with crimes related to soliciting a child and indecent exposure.

The man, whose name was not released, will remain in ERO custody pending removal proceedings.

IN TEXAS

According to a statement from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a South Texas man, Gilbert John Montez, 24, of Edinburg, recruited and hired people to transport and hold a 4-year-old child for ransom.

“On March 31, 2022, Jose Andres Romo-Torres took the young child from his mother at a house holding smuggled migrants and gave him to two strangers, Larissa Celena Gracia and Nichole Marie Garcia Tichacek, to transport past the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint to Corpus Christi. The women then handed the child off to Michael Gee Ingram, who transported the child to Houston,” ICE said.

“Once there, the child was given to Jonathan Orlando Ortiz-De Leon, who took the boy to his apartment in Stafford. During this time, Montez and Ortiz-De Leon contacted the young child’s father and informed him that his son would not be released until he paid $4,500. On April 3, 2023, Montez hired Carlos Oyervides to help Ortiz-De Leon collect the ransom payment and deliver the child to his father. Oyervides also spoke with the child’s father and told him he needed to pay the ransom to get his son back.”

Authorities learned of the scheme and attempted to arrange for the child’s release, but they failed. They then tracked the pair down to an apartment complex, took them into custody, and located the child.

Montez was sent to prison this week following his conviction to commit hostage taking. Authorities sentenced him to 200 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

The others involved in the scheme all pleaded guilty to their roles and have been sentenced to prison.

SOUND OF FREEDOM

In Sound of Freedom, Jim Caviezel played the real-life former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agent Tim Ballard. Ballard worked in the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and worked undercover for the U.S. Child Sex Tourism Jump Team.

Ballard went on to start the nonprofit Operation Underground Railroad (OUR). That organization fights child sex trafficking and the sexual exploitation of minors worldwide. They also help law enforcement rescue children.

In the movie, Caviezel (as Ballard) resigns his position with DHS to rescue children from sex traffickers in Columbia.

That’s a noble thing…right?

For those who have seen the film, the subject matter no doubt reinforces long-held beliefs that pedophiles deserve a special place in Hell.

But for the leftist press, much of this movie is, to quote Rolling Stone, a “QAnon-tinged thriller about child-trafficking [that] is designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”

The Guardian, meanwhile, calls the new movie “paranoid.”

Our media believes that reports of human trafficking and child sex slavery worldwide are either urban myths or, at best, exaggerated.

I’ll leave you with this: the same media resisted covering the Jeffery Epstein bombshell for years.
