Leftist Media Refuses to Publicly Admit the Real Reason Harris Chose Walz

There is an old adage that a good sign a politician is lying is because the person’s lips are moving. The same could be true of the corrupt and biased legacy corporate media.

In just the last 8 years, the press has reported constantly on the fake Russian hoax, lied about comments Trump did not make about troops, and frequently stated outright falsehoods about the former President’s actions on January 6th, when he delegated control of the guard to generals, who chose not to send the unit in to secure the capitol on that day. The media is also lying about the real reason why the current Vice President chose the unaccomplished and relatively unknown far-left Governor from Minnesota, Tim Walz.

The firm consensus, even going into the past weekend, was that Josh Shapiro, the Governor of the most critical swing state in the country, Pennsylvania, would be Harris’s pick for Vice President. Shapiro has governed as a moderate, he has a very high approval rating in his state, and the Governor even had a relationship with the Vice President from when he was Attorney General at the same time Harris served in that role in California. Republicans have no path to the nomination without winning Pennsylvania, and the Democrats will also have a very difficult time winning in 2024 without carrying this key state as well.

The reality is that Walz’s political views are where the party is right now. Even though multiple media outlets reported Obama preferred the more moderate Senator from Arizona, Mark Kelly, Harris could not afford to pick a moderate for multiple reasons. The progressive base remains the most important part of the Democratic party, and these individuals, who turned out in heavy numbers in 2020 and again in 2022 after Roe v. Wade was overturned the year before, would not have accepted Shapiro and his more moderate views on a variety of issues. One example of progressive concerns over Shapiro was when John Fetterman, who opposed Shapiro because they thought the governor was not progressive enough on crime and other social issues, publicly came out against the Pennsylvania governor over the weekend. Fetterman frequently fought with Shapiro when he was Lieutenant Governor and he had responsibility in overseeing potential pardons for convicted criminals.

Walz has governed much more progressively than Shapiro, and he also supports the radical ideas that the current Vice President also think are good for the country. The Minnesota Governor signed legislation giving illegal immigrants driver’s licenses, and he also supported the violent riots after George Floyd’s tragic death in 2020. Walz also vocally supported the defund the police movement, and violent homicides are up 71 percent in Minnesota. Walz’s also gave money to the same Freedom Fund that Harris donated to that enabled violent criminals to get out of jail early, many who went on to commit additional violence offenses.

The Democratic Party no longer has any space or room for moderates, and Harris’s far-left views weren’t compatible with Shapiro’s more moderate positions either. While Shapiro would have helped the Vice President in the key state of Pennsylvania and with some moderate and swing voters, much of the extreme and far-left base of today’s Democratic party would not have liked or accepted the current Governor of Pennsylvania. Walz is today’s Democratic party, his views are where the party is, and that’s the main reason why Harris chose him.
