Should Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, And South Carolina Be Called The “Republic Of New Afrika?”
My disgust with DEI and racist based ideas like it has been well documented. Basing preferences on skin color over merit and experience is what defines racism, something the left wants to ignore.
Naturally, some school districts in California refuse to accept this reality, and by doing so, they are indoctrinating the children who attend there with racially biased thoughts and hatred and distrust for the country. Some of those districts include Santa Rosa City Schools, Fort Bragg Unified School District, Alameda Unified School District, San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Fresno Unified School District, Los Angeles Unified School District, and the San Francisco Unified School District.
Specifically, the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) began trying to deeply indoctrinate the students during the 2024-2025 school year. Despite complaints from students and parents, the school district took its far-left agenda to new lows by instituting “Ethnic Study Programs.”
The San Francisco Standard reported that parents received an email notifying them about the curriculum just three days before students returned to class for the school year. Freshman students were automatically enrolled in two semesters of ethnic studies without any input from their parents. Interestingly, the San Francisco Unified School District’s Board of Education never officially mandated this curriculum; instead, district leadership decided on it without seeking board approval.
This curriculum’s lessons are outrageous. Students are encouraged to question the significance of historical figures such as Christopher Columbus and Thomas Jefferson. The course requires students to provide a “counter-narrative” regarding their accomplishments and contributions.
One lesson includes an image of the “Genderbread Person,” which the left uses to promote the lie that gender is not strictly binary. The district pushes the radical ideology that, like sexuality, both gender and gender identity are fluid.
Want even more total insanity? A lesson based on the myth of systemic white supremacy introduces students to the concept of creating a new country called the “Republic of New Afrika.” This proposed nation would include the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. The Republic of New Afrika would be intended solely for “formerly enslaved Africans (new Afrikan people) on U.S. soil, specifically in the states where their ancestors were enslaved.”
The district’s ethnic studies curriculum is beyond concerning, and it’s getting worse. In the coming years, California will require ethnic studies for high school graduation. In 2021, fanatical Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law making California the first state to require high school students to take ethnic studies courses. This law mandates that all public high schools in California must offer ethnic studies courses by the 2025-2026 school year. Additionally, students graduating in the 2029-2030 school year will be required to complete at least one ethnic studies course to be eligible for graduation.
The truth is that the common theme in every ethnic studies curriculum in the state is that students are viewed in one of two ways. Either as privileged or oppressed based solely on their skin color. An idea that is inherently racist.
SFUSD reportedly received so many complaints about a lesson on Israel, leading to its removal from the ethnic studies curriculum in October. This lesson described the creation of Israel as an “invasion” that “decimated Indigenous populations.”
Led by their racist, left-wing Superintendent Maria Su, SFUSD also attempted to implement a “Grading for Equity” plan. That idiotic idea did nothing but lower the educational bar. Fortunately, due to criticism from parents and some local politicians, Su was forced to call off that “Lost in Space” initiative last week.
“It’s clear there are a lot of questions, concerns, and misinformation with this proposal. We want to make sure any changes benefit our students.” Su added that the district will not pursue the policy for the next year.
As previously reported by The Voice of San Francisco, SFUSD planned to eliminate homework. Under this plan, teachers would be trained to give a D grade, generally considered a passing grade, for scores as low as 21 out of 100. Additionally, semester grades would be based on a final exam that students could retake multiple times.
The initiative received criticism from various quarters. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie expressed his concerns on social media, stating:
“We owe our young people an education that prepares them for success. The proposed changes to grading at SFUSD would not achieve that goal. I have shared our perspective with SFUSD, and we are hopeful that a better path forward can be found for our kids and their future.”
Newsom and the administrators overseeing California’s schools are so focused on their activism that they fail to recognize the negative consequences of their policies. Last year’s elections, from Congress to the White House, served as a referendum on these dangerous leftist ideals. If California leaders refuse to change course, it should ultimately lead to their being either voted out of office or removed from their positions.
These are not “Ethnic Study Programs,” these are flat-out attempts to pander to minorities by penalizing Whites. This is blatant racism, and it cannot be tolerated anywhere, but especially in the school system. Teaching hatred does not prepare young, impressionable minds for success. It teaches them to support Democratic socialist views and the revisionism of reality.
The idea of naming five states “The Republic of New Afrika” is asinine, but labeling California “The Republic of Consistent Morons” is accurate and appropriate. Their state flag could have Beavis and Butthead images and should be flown upside down.
