DeSantis Rolls Out The Red Carpet As Mamdani Preps Eviction Notices
It’s no secret that Zohran Mamdani hates the police. In fact, his hatred is seething and visceral. He called the NYPD “Racist, anti-queer, and a major threat to public safety.”
His “so-called” apology for that statement wasn’t for the sentiment, only for “the language that I used.” He then revealed his half-baked plan to send “mental health teams” instead of police on 911 calls.
I think we all know how badly that will turn out.
The number of NYPD officers is already at its lowest level in 20 years, with fewer than 34,000. Something even liberal Mayor Eric Adams knew was dangerous. He planned to increase the ranks to 40,000 by 2028. However, Mamdani insists there will be no additions, and he is noncommittal about shrinking the agency. He now claims he doesn’t want to “defund this rogue agency,” even though he has previously said he would. He then contradicts himself by saying, “It’s not a question of headcount. It’s a question of safety.”
So much for truth and transparency.
Mamdani is a well-known antisemite, and it’s no surprise that that hatred would bleed into his assessment of the NYPD. Because the police force collaborated with the Israel Defense Force (IDF) on several training exercises, the bigoted Mamdani believes that it is a full-blown conspiracy theory. This was his crass statement:
“We have to make clear that when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF.”
That unfair comment not only implies that the NYPD is undisciplined, but it also implies that the IDF influenced that behavior, which is nothing more than a delusional projection from the mind of a very demented individual.
That said, what some people consider trash, others believe to be treasure. Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is looking to capitalize on the recent socialist win in the “Red Apple.”
DeSantis posted on X that, despite being unappreciated and unwanted by Mamdani, they have a bright future available to them in the Sunshine State. He even sweetened the pot by offering a bonus.
“The $5k recruitment bonus we give to new police personnel will be utilized by a number of these NYPD officers.”
“There is no reason to risk your life serving when the mayor hates you and believes your department shouldn’t even exist.”
The Florida Politics website reported that DeSantis signed the bill in 2022, which created a $5,000 recruitment bonus for law enforcement personnel moving to Florida from other states.
DeSantis implemented the bonus when much of the country was still coming out of the “defund the police” delusion started by the unnecessary knee-jerk reaction to the George Floyd incident.
Mamdani was a major supporter of that movement. In December of 2020, the bandwagon-riding socialist/communist wrote:
“In the last budget, the City Council tried to make the NYPD reduce its overtime budget by half. They simply refused. There is no negotiating with an institution this wicked & corrupt.”
“Defund it. Dismantle it. End the cycle of violence.”
Far too many leftists take the side of the criminals over the police. This has resulted in the frustrating “revolving door justice system,” where liberal judges and district attorneys put criminals back on the streets with no bail required.
DeSantis’ post obviously irritated some people. It has garnered almost 2 million views since Wednesday. In an attempt to diminish the temptation to leave, they pointed out that according to Salary.com, NYPD officers’ salaries start at around $60,000 per year. That is roughly the average salary for police in Florida.
As a Florida resident, I can attest that there are many reasons to love this state. Great weather, great roads, a common-sense government, no state income tax, beautiful sandy beaches, and plenty of things to do and see, whether you’re single or have a family.
As Florida residents, we have only one request. If you are a Democrat or someone who has leftist/liberal political views, leave them in the state you are leaving. Come and enjoy the lifestyle, but please don’t bring the headaches that caused you to move along with you.
