Why Trump’s Decision to Fire Kristi Noem Again Shows Accountability has Returned to Washington D.C.
If the embarrassing Biden administration made the comment once, these failed bureaucrats uttered this nonsensical declaration many times. Inflation is transitory. While price increases reached 40-year highs during the failed senile prior regime, not a single economist or advisor was fired for the previous President’s embarrassing economic policies that nearly wiped out the middle class in America. Biden also refused to fire a single general for the completely failed withdrawal from Afghanistan. Obama and Biden followed the same absurd playbook of refusing to hold Cabinet secretaries accountable during the multiple failures that occurred across both the former President’s incompetent administrations. Barack Obama never asked Susan Rice or anyone else who lied about Benghazi to resign, and the failed left-wing radical also didn’t fire anyone after the IRS scandal was exposed. The left is allergic to accountability, and these extremists are unwilling to admit any failures.
This is why President Trump’s decision to fire Kristi Noem was not only the right decision in this particular situation, but also important in a broader sense. Trump’s actions showed accountability has finally returned to Washington. There were multiple red flags with Noem from the beginning. She did not get along with Homan, her affair with Corey Lewandowski, and the messaging from her department was also constantly an issue. The best example of her incompetence was when she claimed that agitator Alex Pretti was at the scene to inflict maximum damage on ICE officials, which was clearly an incorrect statement. While Pretti was violent, armed, and a person who had assaulted ICE in the past, her decision to blame Stephen Miller for portraying him as a murderer was incorrect. ICE has focused on deporting people with a final removal order and those convicted of crimes, the important work of these law enforcement individuals should have been better explained to the public from the beginning. There were also reports that Noem was keeping track of how many minutes Homan got on television, so she could make sure her TV time surpassed his. This was the backdrop to Trump’s decision to fire the former governor of South Dakota after she falsely claimed he had approved a significant ad buy campaign during a recent congressional hearing. Trump had already essentially demoted Noem by giving Homan a bigger role in Minnesota, and her testimony was likely the final straw for him.
The entire premise of the Make America Great Again Movement was to return power to the American people. Making sure the government is accountable to the people is at the very core of what Trump and his political views are about. While the President could have handled the release of the Epstein files better, Trump got the decision to fire Noem correct, and by removing her from the Cabinet, he showed the high standard he holds his advisors to. The 45th and 47th Presidents learned from the issues they had with cabinet secretaries in their first term, the need to have both loyal and competent people in their administration, and Trump has done a better job of making sure that the people running departments in his administration are fully onboard with the MAGA movement and his stated policy goals.
The biggest failure of the prior Biden administration was that of character and leadership. Indeed, the disgraced former President rarely did interviews with the press, he fired no one after repeated failures, and was also okay with prosecuting people solely because of these individuals’ political beliefs. The argument that the former President had no knowledge of ruthless former Attorney General Merrick Garland’s efforts to prosecute political opponents is not remotely credible. Biden’s administration was as ruthless as these individuals were corrupt, and the country suffered the results. The former President also held no one accountable for the open border that results in thousands of drug-related and violence-related deaths.
President Trump and the MAGA movement represent a return of power to the American people, and the country is reasserting control over the government that has failed to represent the nation for years. Accountability is at the heart of what President Trump is about, and his decision to fire Noem after giving the former Governor multiple opportunities shows a critical difference between Trump and his left-wing predecessors. Biden and Obama were so afraid to show any weakness or admit the slightest fault that both of these failed Presidents refused to be transparent with the public or hold those in power accountable. Trump’s decision to fire Noem was both the right decision and one that shows there is a new sheriff in town.
