Has Trump Found A Third Way In American Foreign Policy?

Trump isnโ€™t your usual president. One of the reasons he is so hated by the American Left, the British, and most of the EU is that he isnโ€™t a usual president. They are used to presidents saying things boldly with no intention of doing themโ€”megaphone in handโ€”on a pile of rubble. Then, starting some meaningless neocon war, in the wrong country, that will last forever. And, a few decades later, bailing them out when they do stupid stuff like go after Russia. At the very least, they’d expected to be treated like Reagan….who was smiling and appeared very kind while telling them they were idiots.

Objectively speaking, Trump is trying to find a “Third Way” between boots on the ground nation (not) building and mere negotiations that don’t work. Venezuela showed us thisโ€ฆwhich kind of confused people and still does. He decapitated their dictator while leaving the rest of the government in place. Now, the remaining government is actually cooperating with us andโ€”dare I sayโ€”trying to create an economy that helps Venezuelans. Not that the establishment media noticed, but they have signed agreements with oil, natural gas, and mineral extraction companiesโ€”on good terms for their countryโ€”and are pushing forward as a partner. Absolutely nobody could have predictedโ€”much less imaginedโ€”that any of this was possible. They have already shipped more oil this year than in all of 2025. Itโ€™s brilliant. So far, so good.

Iran is also completely different from what weโ€™ve seen historically. I really donโ€™t think Trump wanted to do thisโ€”although he has mentioned it many times in the pastโ€”but the opportunity was just too big to ignore. The recent nuke facility bombing showed how weak Iran really was. The opportunity to destroy everything theyโ€™ve militarily built across 47 years presented itself. That much has been accomplished. Yes, there is more to do, but itโ€™s amazing what has already been done. By that I mean not just the destruction of air, land, and sea military might (yes, they still have soldiers and light infantry in place), but to eventually take over/influence the supply of gas to our largest adversaryโ€”China. Itโ€™s really hard to invade Taiwan without gas. In addition, Iran was producing a lot of drones and other weapons for Russia that are now obliterated. Next, remember that the City of Londonโ€”and Lloydโ€™s of Londonโ€”made massive amounts of money via Iran, which has been interrupted, if not eliminated altogether. Overall, the Europeans are acting like spoiled brats do and may well be hastening the end of NATO. Almost as an asideโ€ฆweโ€™ve shown the worldโ€™s arms buyers that Chinese and Russian defense capabilities were easily overcome. Best buy from us.

Of course, the TDS people are either unable, or choosing not to, see this. This includes the obnoxiously strange Tucker, Candace, Kelly and Joe. Just last week we were told we were going nuclear, and this week Trumpโ€™s a TACO. Anyone who disputes their often bizarre views is being labeled biased and irrational. From their POV, we are too stupid to see how Iran tricked Trump while Israel owns himโ€ฆand now, Iran has won. As Daniel Jupp mentioned this week, itโ€™s like the Monty Python skit where a knight cuts off various limbs of another knight while the wounded knight keeps saying, โ€œIโ€™ve got you now.โ€ At the end, the defeated knight is just a babbling torso. Clue stickโ€”that is Iran. Oh, and the IRGC overthrow of Lebanon was thwarted by Israel yesterday. Lebanese are now beating up IRGC groups on motorbikes…who would have predicted that?

I think Trump has them in a position where a “win” for them is being toll booth operators on the Straits of Hormuz. Granted, the area that the oil tankers use is in international waters…but, we have to give them something. This would relegate what remains of their power to a nice little cash flow until their own people overthrow them right and proper. As for the rest of the world, we really don’t need the Straits of Hormuz. Unlike what my ecology professor told me at Iowa…the world will not “run out of gas by 1990”. The Saudis are already pumping much more gas through a pipeline to the Red Sea. Russia has plenty and we lifted sanctions. Venezuela is back online with even more gas. We’ve got decades/centuries worth ourselves. Sure, Iran will always have some market share…but, and until they become “nice”, their market share will decline as they only serve countries that they do not want to send to hell at their first opportunity. Assuming the mullahs stay in power at all.

A Third Way. Well done. Remarkable really.
