The Fact That Susan Collins And The Impish Nazi Platner Are Tied In Main’s Senate Race Says Volumes About Its Voters
There are times when a person or team should be happy being tied. That can even be applied to some political races. Still, some things are so obvious that if the voting public can’t see the differences between two candidates who are completely diametrically opposed, it is a black mark on the common sense and moral aptitude of the voting public in that state.
To be clear, I am not a huge Susan Collins fan. She likes to call herself a “moderate” Republican, but her dislike of President Trump and her refusal to support certain political agendas have at times hurt Republicans’ efforts to pass important legislation.
So, even though I disagree with her on too many occasions for my liking, she is clearly the better candidate than the immature, imp that Democrats have decided to run against her. Graham Platner is not qualified to be elected dog catcher, far less to represent any state in the U.S. Senate. He is a degenerate clown show, and the Democrats already have too many of those in the House and Senate.
According to a recent poll conducted by Republican firm Fabrizio, Lee & Associates for the pro-Collins Pine Tree Results PAC, Collins and Platner each garnered 46 percent of likely voters’ support, with 8 percent remaining undecided.
Pollsters Tony Fabrizio, David Lee, and Travis Tunis wrote:
“It is clear that the more voters learn about Platner the more they find they don’t like him, making the Senate race HIGHLY competitive. Senator Collins and her allies need to muster the resources to keep the pressure on Platner as the Democrat money machine tries to salvage Platner’s candidacy.”
Don’t like him? Of course, they shouldn’t like him. He’s a pile of communist scum with eyes. A recent survey revealed a troubling trend for Platner: nearly half (49 percent) of respondents have an unfavorable opinion of the Democrat, up from 29 percent in January. Additionally, the candidate’s net favorability rating has fallen into negative territory, with only 40 percent expressing a favorable view. Remarkably, just 4 percent of participants reported having never heard of Platner.
Platner originally came under fire when CNN and other outlets revealed he had a skull-and-crossbones chest tattoo closely resembling a Nazi SS “Death’s Head” (Totenkopf) symbol. His excuse is that he got the tattoo while drunk in Croatia in 2007 while serving in the Marines, and claims he did not know its extremist associations until it was pointed out by reporters. He has since had the tattoo covered up.
Then, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times reported that Platner exchanged sexually explicit messages with up to a dozen women while married to his wife, Amy Gertner.
Platner received more bad news when 59 percent of respondents said the revelations about Platner’s Kik activity would make them less likely to vote for him, while 33 percent said it would make no difference in their support.
The poll was conducted prior to the New York Times releasing a story on Thursday, which featured accusations from former girlfriends of Platner regarding physical abuse and misogynistic behavior. One ex-girlfriend, Lyndsey Fifield, alleged physical altercations—including having her arm twisted behind her back and being pushed into a room. Fifield accused the paper early Friday of omitting several serious allegations against the Democrat, including sexual assault, as a “gift” to his campaign.
Platner acknowledged his sexting activities during an interview with MS NOW on Thursday night, but he refuted the allegations in the Times report as “just not true.”
Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Thursday evening, Collins was being honored on the Senate floor for casting her 10,000th consecutive vote, a streak that dates back to her first days in the chamber in January 1997.
Senator Collins was elected to the Senate, succeeding Bill Cohen. She was reelected in 2002, 2008, 2014, and 2020. In 2020, she made history by becoming the first Republican woman to win a fifth term. Additionally, she is the first popularly elected U.S. Senator from Maine to be elected to a fifth term. Currently, she is the seventh-most senior member of the Senate and the most senior Republican woman.
Former Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) released a statement saying:
“Susan Collins is a force of nature. Those who underestimate her firm resolve, her meticulous preparation, or her devotion to public service do so at their own risk. I have no doubt that my good friend will continue running up the score on behalf of the people of Maine.”
According to the RealClearPolitics average of public polls, Platner currently leads Collins by 7.4 percentage points. Six years ago, the average significantly underestimated the Republican, as Collins won against Democrat Sara Gideon by 8.6 percentage points, despite trailing in every public poll leading up to Election Day.
This election should be a slam dunk for Collins. Yes, she’s a part-time RINO, but the alternative is a communist pervert, who has ex-girlfriends accusing him of roughing them up. Naturally, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but the choice here is obvious; surely, Maine can see the writing on the wall.
