Social Security Administration Caves to Transgendered Community
America’s slippery slope of morality continues to slither, at least by the standards of the Social Security Administration (SSA).
If you’re a man who just transitioned into a woman — or vice versa — then you no longer must worry about your Social Security records misgendering you.
SSA officials say people can now choose their gender on their Social Security Number (SSN) record.
Acting Social Security Commissioner Kilolo Kijakazi announced the newsWednesday.
“This new policy allows people to self-select their sex in our records without needing to provide documentation of their sex designation,” Kijakazi said.
SSA officials said, however, that people who update their gender in their Social Security’s records must apply for a replacement SSN card. They must also provide a current document that corroborates their new identity.
“They will no longer need to provide medical or legal documentation of their sex designation now that the policy change is in place,” according to an SSA statement.
“The agency will accept the applicant’s self-identified sex designation of either male or female, even if it is different from the sex designation shown on identity documents, such as a passport or state-issued driver’s license or identity card. SSN cards do not include sex markers,” SSA officials said.
But if you are non-binary or identify as an unspecified gender then you’re flat out of luck, at least for now.
“The agency is exploring possible future policy and systems updates to support an ‘X’ sex designation for the SSN card application process,” SSA officials said.
Kijakazi said these changes are all part of a new Social Security Administration Equity Action Plan. This plan, available to inspect on the White House’s official website, is one part of President Joe Biden’s plan to deliver “equity and racial justice” to the United States.
Gender reassignment is now big business in the United States.
As Savannah Hulsey Pointer reported for RVIVR this month, the U.S. Sex Reassignment Surgery Market was valued at $1.9 billion in 2021. That is expected to grow at a compounded rate of 11.23 percent from 2022 to 2030, making it likely to bring in almost $4.5 billion annually in just eight years.
As Kevin Boyd reported last month, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill declaring his state a sanctuary for kids and teens who seek to have their genitals mutilated and receive hormone therapy. The sanctuary law even allows for one parent to kidnap their child to have them mutilated because it forbids California law enforcement from enforcing child custody orders.
