This Is What Will Happen When The Party Of Empathy Takes Control Of Your State

Donโ€™t get me wrong, I’m not saying Donald Trump didn’t make mistakes. He made them, and he should pay the piper for them. But do not assume for one second that things are gonna get better under Democrats. Maybe the Republicans and the Democrats in Congress will cancel each other’s bad out, and that’s the best we can hope for.ย

But if Democrats have taken over your governorships and state legislatures then your state is in big trouble. If anything, your crime rates are about to go up. You’re gonna end up paying more in taxes, and business owners are gonna get hit with ridiculous and costly regulations โ€” and those business owners will pass the higher costs of doing business down to you, the consumer.

The state governments are the most worrisome after what happened last Tuesday. And expect fewer businesses to invest in your state. That will mean fewer jobs. Democrats love to regulate businesses, and they love to show leniency and empathy to criminals.

Whatโ€™s getting back to me is a lot of Republicans in a lot of states were pissed off at their Republican legislators and Republican governors over local and state issues and not necessarily over anything directly related to Trump. I donโ€™t know enough about issues in other states, and I donโ€™t know if those voters were justifiably angry or angry because they misunderstood something that was actually a good thing.

People in these states also tell me they think Republicans in their states have been in power for far too long and needed a kick to their complacency. It sounds like Republicans at the local and state levels did a terrible job communicating their priorities and how and why they were pursuing those priorities on behalf of their constituents. And local and state Republicans doing a poor job of communicating doesnโ€™t surprise me in the least!

Some people brought up how Republicans voted for Democrats this time because they wanted their state governments to expand Medicaid under Obamacare. Iโ€™ll just tell this story and let you all make your own judgements.

Sixteen years ago I interviewed a woman who worked in an OBGYN office who told me about all kinds of Medicaid fraud making its way through there. She said she and her husband had two children and would love to have more but couldnโ€™t afford to. Meanwhile, most of the patients coming through that office were on Medicaid and pregnant with their third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth child, etc.

Iโ€™m sure thereโ€™s people out there with big hearts who think thereโ€™s absolutely nothing with that and wonโ€™t understand the point Iโ€™m trying to make, and theyโ€™ll tell me I lack empathy, compassion, etc. Iโ€™m not wasting a second of my day talking to them.
